The centerpiece of most gardens and landscapes is stonework. As Black Diamond Landscapes Inc. has grown, we have strived to make this aspect of landscaping one of our ‘centerpieces’. Black Diamond Landscapes, Inc. has experience from all angles of the hardscape division of landscaping. We specialize in walkways, driveways, patios, terraces and walls utilizing and working with all sizes and material choices.
Our most popular projects and landscapes are stone projects of concrete pavers, radiant heated driveways, bluestone, fieldstone, brick, granite stairs and curbing. There is no limit to the imagination with the uses of stone as well as the styles, colors, and textures that are available. Along with adding beauty to your property, stonework adds value to your property. From a simple bluestone walkway to the ultimate heated driveway using interlocking concrete pavers, stonework is always the focus your home or business.

Walls and Stairs
One of the longest lasting and prominent structures in any landscape is the hardscape, in many cases it is a wall and or steps made of either natural or manufactured stone. The striking feature of any wall is often the material that is made from, craftsmanship that went into the construction of it, and its design. Black Diamond Landscapes has developed a hardscape division that specializes in all aspects of stone work, including all types of walls and any stair systems that might need to be built into the structures.
Black Diamond team members have many years of combined field experience and with the design input from you our clients, we have the equipment and know-how to create the perfect wall for your home or business. We offer both natural stone and segmented stone walls and stair systems, for both retaining or freestanding designs. Our crews also have been trained and certified by the NCMA (National Concrete Masonry Association), for segmented retaining walls and stairs. This a important aspect in designing and constructing these type of walls that often gets overlooked when choosing a hardscape contractor. In any wall or stair design; appearance, performance and safety are key ingredients in designing the perfect and appropriate hardscape. When you work with Black Diamond, we will work with you to ensure all three of these elements are addressed, it is one part of what makes your project run smoothly, start to finish.
Patios and Walkways
Outdoor living in the summer months is the ideal way to sit back and relax, or when entertaining a small group or having large party. You could do it on your lawn; unlevel and your lawn takes a trampling, or….you could enjoy your day on a paver, bluestone or concrete patio. Black Diamond Landscapes has grown their hardscape division over time to tackel all aspects of stone and masonry installation, but we excel with paver, brick, bluestone or concrete patios and walkways. Our crews have created and designed countless hardscape projects that incorporate walkways, outdoor living spaces with patios large and small, that use a variety of materials, all using the best proven installation practices in the industry.
The appropriate type of material used on your project, is as important as the installation methods. Black Diamond’s crews and management will work with you to design and implement that incorporates 3 key ingredients of; appearance, performance and safety. We also think of all the small stuff like drainage issues, corrects grades, future additions to your landscape, like lighting and irrigation. Part of our crews training consists of classroom and practical experience through ICPI (Interlocking Concrete Paver Institute) which has proven to provide us with the best industry practices, that has shown nothing but long term success in our paver installations. This is again, should be a key aspect that should be considered when choosing the right contractor for your project.
Driveways and Curbing
The ultimate curb appeal and investment in the landscape is the addition of a paver or concrete driveway. Not much attracts the eye like the uniform layout of a well designed paver system in a driveway application. Black Diamond hardscape division has many proven successes with paver, concrete and asphalt driveways; with many years of experience, utilizing the best industry practices of compaction, aggregate stone bases and surface choices. The key to all of these projects is the right amount of excavation, the correct aggregates and compaction of these layers. The preparation of the “foundation” or sub-base and base is the key factor in have a long lasting driveway; asphalt, paver or concrete.
Like in all of our projects planning the correct drainage, grading and edging another important aspect of any hardscape project. While you might not think of edging and curbing it can be a nice touch to any hardscape project. Black Diamond can provide correct installation of granite cobblestones for your planting beds or hardscape, as well as traditional 6” granite street curbing, a feature your home or business might be missing.
