Black Diamond Landscapes

Snow & Ice Management

Living in New England, we all look forward, or dread the coming of the winter season. It starts with the change of change of colors from deep green to our festive oranges, yellows and reds. Followed by the cooler air, and for some the smell of snow in the air. From someone who loves the snow, I look forward to the change of seasons and the fury of the white stuff falling from the sky. Not everyone shares my enthusiasm, along with the drudgery and hassle of snow and ice removal from their home or business. That is why Black Diamond Landscapes transforms our landscaping operations over to snow and ice management in the late fall.

Our crews and equipment are prepared to handle anything that nature will throw our way. Our services include: Residential Snow Removal, Commercial Snow Removal and Highway & Street Plowing.  All services are provided 24/7, from Mid November to the end of the snow season, and are personalized for your home or business. We have the experience and crews keep you moving no matter how bad the winter gets. This winter, stay warm and dry inside, let us take care of all your snow & ice needs.

Residential Snow removal

Most people despise the idea of shoveling or snow blowing their walkway and driveway, whether it’s 5 a.m. or 10 p.m. We also know that most other snow removal companies, does not want to work for the homeowner when it comes to snow, and if they do, they are slamming some oversized plow on your driveway, only to find out they destroyed your lawn once the snow melts.  We have a different approach at Black Diamond Landscapes, we want your residential snow removal business, and we don’t plow!

Our experienced crews use only large commercial snow blowers and shovel crews to safely and efficiently remove the snow from your home’s walkways, stairs and driveways. We clean the snow from driveway edge to edge, sidewalks, walkways, steps and stairs, ice melt and all. We will customize it to whatever your needs are; 24/7, holidays, birthdays, special events, whenever it snows, we have you covered, and you don’t have to think about it.

We are not your last snow plow guy, we know that your home is not a test range for a giant truck mounted plow. Do they really clean the driveway anyway, they always leave inch or two of hard packed ice on the driveway which turns to ice? Do they even show up all the time? I bet I know the answers to these questions.

Stay warm, stay dry, get what you pay for, and have a professional  snow & ice company provide a professional service for you and your family this winter.

Commercial Plowing

Your business is where you make your money and we know that it needs to be accessible in all weather from ice storms to snow storms, whether it is 2 inches of slush or 2 feet of powder. Black Diamond Landscapes has multiple plow and shovel crews, well maintained equipment, and salting/sanding equipment, all available 24/7 from mid November to early April. Pricing for your commercial property can be a flat rate for the season or by the snow/ice event. Similar to our residential program, all of our snow & ice services can be custom tailored to your particular needs, we are there to make sure your line of business doesn’t get interrupted by mother nature’s fury this winter.

Salt/Sand and Ice Melt

After a snow storm, when all the snow is plowed aside, a thin layer of snow or ice remains. This can be as dangerous as the 12” of powder before, and it needs to be removed quickly and correctly. Whether it is a commercial property or a residential account, the slick snow and ice is a accident waiting to happen.

The majority of our commercial accounts are treated with straight rock salt or a combination of rock salt and coarse sand. In either case the correct mixture can be applied based on the specific needs of the client. We also can accommodate for the same type material spread on walkways, sidewalks and stairs or a bagged material of calcium chloride can be used for these areas. In severe cold when the temperature drops below 26 degrees Fahrenheit, rock salt becomes ineffective, so a mixture of products must be applied.

For our residential properties a bagged product is used in most cases, usually a calcium chloride and rock salt mixture. The combination of these two, provides snow/ice melting capabilities down to zero degrees Fahrenheit. The bagged products also contain a chemical called CMA, calcium magnesium acetate, this helps protect hardscape and landscape from the active ingredients that melt the snow. All bagged products are applied with a push spreader and can get into all the tight areas of your driveway, walkway and sidewalks. This provides a finishing touch after removing all the snow, in most cases, clients who have us apply ice melt have bare ground by the end of a storm.
